O.M.G Usher ft Will.I.Am

Oh, well I'm updating this blog to say that nothing to exciting (relating to the exchange) has happened since my PDO.
PDO (Pre-Dparture Orientaion) was alright, I meet some amazing people that are going on exchange. We had an all female group which was kinda cool i guess. We talked about a lot of stuff like "Stranger Danger" :p and other random things like that.
Hmmm oh the last day of school was May 25th and graduation was the 27th. I was really happy on the 25th but on the 27th I got really sad. A lot of my friends are seniors and I had to imagine not seeing them for a year or longer...and then I realized that I wouldn't walk with my class... it mad me so sad, I almost cried on my Cello but i restrained myself :)
....June has been a pretty amazing month I love all of my friends. My Best Friends Birthday Party was this weekend and we have been celebrating this entire month :) I bought her concert tickets and we had so much fun (3oh!3 Cobra Starship = <3) He actually birthday is Wednesday tho so were gonna hang out again. Oh I'm also leaving July 9th to go to a wedding in Virginia and then July 11th I will be off to be a camp counselor for a month. I'm excited and when I get back I am going to have so much to do.

peace out home slice

Fully Alive by Flyleaf

So I'm sitting in class learning as us children do and my phone vibrates....I think its my mom so I check to see...no its not my mom its an email saying "Congratulations! AFS-France has just accepted your application!"

I screamed, smiled, and my teacher and classmates looked at me like I was truly insane. I told them I was fine, and nothing was wrong. I was giddy the entire class period, as soon as the lunch bell rang I bolted out of the room. I found my friends to share the good news and they freaked out with me. :) (Imagine a bunch of girls screaming in a courtyard)

I'm so happy :)

ok now all i have to do is wait for a family and PDO (May 8th)
so
ill update soon... :D

Waiting by 311

So yesterday my advisor told me:
I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED BY AFS USA!!!!!
this was so awesome and I was on such a natural excitement high it was amazing and I felt so happy:)
Until I realized that I have to wait for AFS France to accept me
and apparently it might take 6-8weeks :/
so you know what that means...... it means that I am officially anxious, excited, and nervous.
So now lets play:
THE WAITING GAME
1. Submit Application (done)
2. Wait for Interview (done) - I kind of did this before I submitted my app.
3. Wait to see if your accepted by Native Country (done)
4. Wait to get accepted by your Host Country (done)
5. Wait for Host Family(waiting)
6. Wait for Departure(waiting)

Money Money Money by ABBA

So I received an email today, well a lot of emails from AFS and associates.

The first one was from the scholarship service letting me know that I have to send in a few forums.
The second from my AFS advisor stating that she received my App. but I forgot a few minor details so I'm going to go fix that problem when I'm done with this.
Lastly, the third was from the AFS Financial Wiki. They are finding ways to help AFSers get to the Countries. SO they have given me a ChipIn (the thing to the right of the page). This gadget allows those generous people reading my blog to help me achieve my goal of going to France. Also the money goes directly to AFS so there is no middle man.

Well I need to go get this stuff in so
Please help me by donating it is 100% safe and any amount helps :D

*So this is going to be a short post...sorry*

My Name Is by Eminem

Introductions are in order, and the easest way to introduce myself is like this:
Birth Name: Marche but you can call me Adrianna
Age: 17
Grade: 11th (Junior year in America)
Current Residence: Atlanta, GA
My Family: Mom - Marcia & My Brother - Sedrick :D

That a little about me, now let me introduce this blog. WELCOME :D
I am making the blog to keep track of my adventures as an exchange student(hopefully). I have spent months trying to find the right program and I have gone through many options. I have looked at YFU, ROTARY, CIEE, AFS, and INTRAX. So I have officially picked the program I feel that is right for me and that program is (*insert drum roll here*)...........AFS. It was a hard decision for me to pick AFS but I just had to pick the right one.

First, YFU was the most cost efficient but they only send students to Britney, France.
Intrax - had very lack luster communication with me so :/ .
CIEE - leaves in early August and I work at a summer camp in the beginning of August so that was a no go (even tho I know a lot of people who have went through there program).
Lastly Rotary - You switch host families half way through your exchange, which may help some students but I think that knowing that I would be switching families wouldn't allow me to to get close to my first family.

So AFS just seemed perfect they stay in contact with me and I love them :)

I have sent off my Pre-App and I am awaiting my full application....let the adeventure begin!
